PRESENTED BY DAVID DONDE
Callers
raised the issue of returning goods to stores as well as their consumer
rights. Do we as South Africans complain enough? This question was
posed by David; most people feel that we do not exercise our rights
often enough. Callers spoke about how long they keep their till slips
with some having kept records for decades. A caller spoke about how
Enron fooled the public and South African consumers are possibly
falling prey to the same trap. She recommended a powerful documentary
called “Enron: The Smartest Guys in The Room” which will be repeated on
Monday 23 June 2008 at 16:05 on channel 104 – Movie Magic2.
One of
Vladimir Tretchikoff’s paintings “The Fruits of Bali” has been
auctioned off for 3.7 million Rand. This discussion led to callers
commenting on their childhood memories of Tretchikoff prints and
questioned whether he was the father of kitsch.
Zimbabwe’s
situation was discussed and a caller said that Mugabe alone is a weapon
of mass destruction. David asked what the difference between Robert
Mugabe and God is. Answer: God doesn’t think he’s Bob. This initiated a
few riddles on unrelated topics, which was quite fun.
